Bedford & District Aeromodelling Club (BDAC) is one of the longest established clubs in the Bedford area, with an average annual membership of more than 50 fliers. The primary interest is the building and flying of radio controlled power models – this is broad based with sports, scale, fun-fly, aerobatic, and gas-turbine jets, all flown regularly. Interest in electric flight and glider guiding is growing, while aerotowing is becoming popular with some members.
The flying site, which is within sight of the famous Cardington hangars, features a well-kept grass runway and is perfectly situated for model flying. Flying is possible seven days a week, all year round.
The club welcomes members of all ages and abilities, and offers tuition to novice flyers by experienced club members. The club is BMFA affiliated and encourages members to follow the BMFA Achievement Scheme to the A and B certificates.
Club meetings are held on the first Wednesday of alternate months and over the summer period some meetings are also held at the flying site.
Please note that the Club does not cater for model helicopter flying.
